Overview
ODE describes home schooling as one of several options and says Oregon law lets a child between 6 and 18 (grades 1–12) be taught at home by a parent, guardian or private teacher. If a child was withdrawn from public school, the first exam is at least 18 months after withdrawal; if the child never attended school, the first exam is before the end of grade 3 (ORS 339.035(3)).
